How a visit works

Inquiries and confirmation
Sending an inquiry does not confirm a reservation. A visit is confirmed only when we have agreed on dates in writing and you have completed the required forms.
Changes to a plan
Weather, road conditions, sheep and land needs, and family responsibilities can change a plan on short notice. We will tell you as early as we can and work with you on an alternative.
Risk on the land
This is a working sheep camp in remote high desert and mountain country. Uneven ground, livestock, elevation, heat, cold, wind, dust, storms, and limited cell service are part of it. Confirmed guests sign an acknowledgment of risk before arrival.
Your own arrangements
Guests arrange their own travel, vehicles, lodging outside the visit, medications, and personal insurance. High-clearance vehicles are strongly recommended.
Privacy of place
We do not publish the location of the sheep camp, family homesites, or ancestral sites, and we ask that guests do not either. Directions are shared privately with confirmed guests.
Ending a visit
We may end a visit if someone puts themselves, another person, the animals, or the land at risk, or disregards host instructions or Navajo Nation law.

Navajo Sheepcamp LLC is an independently owned family business and is not an official program of the Navajo Nation government. Experiences are subject to availability, weather, land conditions, safety requirements, and family capacity.
