Accessibility
We would rather have an honest conversation early than have someone travel a long way to a situation that does not work for them.
On the land
What the site is actually like
- Terrain
- Sand, rock, uneven ground, and no paved paths. Most activities involve walking short distances over surfaces that shift underfoot.
- Facilities
- Camp facilities are simple and outdoors. There is no accessible restroom, no running water at camp, and no paved or level parking area.
- Getting here
- Access roads are unpaved and can be rough, muddy, or washed out. High-clearance vehicles are strongly recommended, and travel timing can change with weather.
- Elevation and climate
- Elevation ranges from high desert to mountain country. Heat, cold, wind, dust, and sun exposure are all part of a day here.
- What we can adjust
- Pace, distance, seating, shade, rest time, activity choice, and how much physical work is involved. Some days can be planned largely around camp and vehicle-accessible viewpoints.
- What we cannot change
- The ground itself, the remoteness, and the distance to emergency medical care. We will tell you honestly if we do not think the site will work for you.
Tell us about mobility, sensory, medical, or dietary needs when you first write, and we will talk it through privately. We do not collect those details through website forms.
This website
Digital accessibility
We aim for WCAG 2.1 AA: readable contrast, keyboard-navigable pages, labeled form fields, descriptive alt text, and text that scales without breaking layout.
If something here is hard to read or use, tell us and we will fix it. Write to timothy.benally10@gmail.com.
